I’m Reese Zhang, and I love cooking, snowboarding, filming, and playing music.

你好,

What does that say about me?

Other than the fact that I can’t sit still, it probably means I also love chemistry, physics, psychology and math…

Was I a straight-A student in those? Not really. But I’ve always been drawn to the feeling of things: the way flame creates crisp flavors, the pull of gravity when carving on snow, the strange magic of a visual montage, or the patterns that leap from black and white keys…

For me, it’s that mix of intuition and logic that makes life endlessly exciting. And it’s also what makes me a marketer.

Since then,

I’ve led cinematography for a BUTV production, managed social media accounts at Edelman, collaborated with cross-functional teams to research and strategize for WICKED Protein, and led content strategy for the New York Asian Film Festival. In each role, I’ve strengthened my ability to spot cultural moments, adapt strategies for different stakeholders, and optimize content performance through both creativity and data-driven insights.

Professionally,

my journey began behind the camera, where I discovered how powerful visual storytelling can be in sparking connections. That led me to a double degree in Film & Television and Advertising at Boston University, where I built a foundation in creative storytelling and audience engagement.

And now,

as a Master’s student in Strategic Communication at Columbia University, I’m deepening my expertise in communication research and digital media analytics. My goal is to bring together my professional experience and creator’s perspective to drive brand growth and craft stories like those that once inspired me!
